We went to play football at girgau as we were not allowed at race course. After the football match we all went there. It was a nice experience and water body is almost 15- 20 feet deep. If you know swimming then go at the center or have fun at the steps where water is till your neck.

Went here post 6:30pm, it was a breezy evening. Sat near the tank for about an hour, everyone had their masks on except when clicking pictures. It was a peaceful and nice place to spend time at.

The Banganga Tank is a temple tank, part of the Hindu Walkeshwar Temple complex in the Malabar Hill area of the city of Mumbai, India. It is a heritage site. Not well maintained. Dirty n garbage strewen all over the place.

Narrow lanes lead to this place which is mostly used to perform rituals of dear departed family members. Peaceful and calm..away from the usual traffic noise..but yet in the heart of Mumbai City.

Banganga has a great heritage value. The history goes back to the Ramayan Era. The road leading to the place is a narrow koliwada road. It is advisable to park car near the garden and walk for around 10 minutes to the place. The place needs lots of restoration. The tank can be more beauttified and restored. There are many historical temples. I personally feel it's a waste of an ancient heritage. The water in the tank is very impure. There are people washing clothes and bathing. Homeless are sleeping on the ghats. There are leftover of Puja rituals which are eaten by the animals and birds. Total negligence of great cultural assets. Though it was very serene and peaceful. Must visit if you are a heritage lover.
