★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cossimbazar Rajbari is located just 1 km east of Cossimbazar Railway Station in the state of West Bengal, India. Everyone called it as Cossimbazar Baro Rajbari. Krishnakanta Nandi was the founder of the Kasimbazar royal family who was popularly known as Kantmudi. He built this palace in the middle of the eighteenth century. The yellow colour beautiful edifice is not maintained properly. The plaster on the walls is falling off; the building is slowly being ruined. Visitors are not allowed inside.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were at Cossimbazar Rajbari (palace) adjacent to the historical town of Murshidabad in West Bengal. Way back in time, when Murshidabad was the capital of the Nawabs of Bengal, Cossimbazar was a flourishing port on the Ganga, tucked inside a bend in the river. So it was here —around 1700 — that Ajodhya Ram Roy of Pirojpur village decided to settle down with his family. Ajodhya Ram Roy and his son Dinobandhu Roy traded in silk and built up a sizable business in silk export. But after the English East India Company defeated the Nawab of Murshidabad and subsequently decided to straighten out the course of Ganga to facilitate direct passage of boats between Murshidabad and Behrampore (now Baharampur), Cossimbazar lost its strategic importance and dwindled away. The Roy family too began to look at other options. It's a magical place :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ All things are so beautiful about this Rajbari Specially the Durgapuja. The Sculpture of Maa Durga is too much Beautiful. And the decoration of the Puja Mandap is so nice. I think Durgapuja is the best time to visit this Rajbari .

You will get to stay in an actual palace.
A portion of the palace has been renovated .If are a Bengali movie bug you can identify few of the places like thakur Dalan .
The food is awesome. The cooking is done using minimal oil.
The place is owned by Sugarr and Spice. Service and behavior is excellent
