Freserganj Fishing Harbour - Susni Island

I visited this place near about 2 weeks ago. Awesome place. Only boat and boat... Near about 300-500 boat, i mean fishing boat, which is also called Fishing trawler, you can see here serially. All the villagers living here are Fisherman in occupation. None other business have grown here. You can enter here by a long Jetty. A jetty is a structure that projects from the land out into water. Often, "jetty" refers to a walkway accessing the centre of an enclosed waterbody. Also some Launch are available here for sea travel. From here you can go to Jambu dwip, Sagar Dwip, SundarBan, Kapil Munir Ashram, etc.

A normal harbor used by fisherman's to unload their catch on daily basis . Big and small boats docks regularly . I have seen Verities of fish like #Hilsa #Magline and many others here. This harbour is under control by coast guard and regular petrol boats are also parked here . For tourist view of boats and its vibrant colors are beautifull . One can also see mangroves on the other side of jetty towards sundarban side . From here one can take a small boat ride towards Jambu Dweep which is now closed for tourists and one can watch migratory birds from boat on island . Boatman charges @ ₹ 120/- or ₹ 1800/- for entire boat for 2 hrs ride.

The Fraserganj Fishing Harbour Complex has a government operated fishing harbour- maintained by Fisheries Department, Government of West Bengal. It's having a huge complex with the all infrastructure and facility to do fishing by fishermen. The complex having sufficient approach road, huge capacity overhead water tank, ice factory, dry dock for boats and trollers, market (sell fishing related items), fish auction centre, deisel re-filling centre, helipad, etc. To entered the complex, ticket of Rs. 5/- will required. A creek named Edward Creek has the fishing harbour which is connected with Bay of Bengal. The boats and trollers are started here to do fishing in deep sea through this creek/ harbour and back here again to unload fish. Very importantly if you want to visit Jambu Dwip by a motor-boat, the boats started from this fishing harbour. It's a very nice place as your can see variety of boats and trollers anchored in harbour and the mangrove forest in the opposite side of the harbour. The fishing harbour is 2-3 km from Bakkhali, to visit harbour have to hire a Toto. The Benfish Tourist Lodge in Fraserganj is very close to the harbour.

Good place but not a perfect tourist spot.

It's a lovely place. You can take a boat ride with Rs. 120 per head and see other islands from sea. The scene is amazing and you will be able to spot jellyfishes as well. If you wish you can buy fresh fish at a very low price.

This is a harbour used by the fisherman to offload and sort fishes from their fishing boats. One can also buy fresh fish from here,though the prices are not always correct and one needs to be aware of the market rates. They will charge you 5 rupees per head as entry fee. One can also take boat rides to Jambudwip from here for 120-140 rupees.

This harbour is used by fishermen for fishing. You can buy fresh fish from here at low price. Other works like maintaining the ferries, traveling to jambu dweep for tourists etc are done from here.

This is a small harbour known as Fresserganj Fish harbour. Entry fee is Rs 5 per head. You can buy fresh fish from here in low price. Many sea fishes available here like hilsa, pomphret. Here Fisherman unload cached fishes and load lots of big cube ice in boat as they have been fishing in the ocean for 1 week or more in row. These boats are very courfull and well decorated. All the fishermans work very hard. Fishing is the only livelihood here. You can see here many mangrove tress. You can go jambu island from this harbour, boat charge is 120rs, but now this is closed for tourists.
