Beautiful Monastery. When I visited it was closed due to covid19 for public. A must see.

After hopping around several monasteries in Bodhgaya, this one seemed less attractive though. However, the temple, built by the Japanese, provides a glimpse of the Japanese architecture and is a pretty tranquil place to relax and rejuvinate. Visiting hours are from 9AM-12PM and 2PM-6PM

The only temple which was open other than the Mahabodhi temple during my visit to Bodh Gaya. This temple is beautiful from both the outside and the inside. The architecture of this place is very beautiful. This place is so peaceful and the best for meditation. The temple complex is clean and with many trees. Make sure about the timings of the temple as it remains close between 12 to 2 pm.

An outstanding example of Buddhist culture and Japanese architecture, this temple was built in 1972 with the help of International Buddhist communities. The structure of the temple is carved out of wood and it looks like a Japanese shrine. It also showcases a lot of Japanese paintings narrating events from the life of Gautam Buddha.
