★ ★ ★ ★ ★ National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration, NIEPA is one of the premier institutions and apex body in the field of educational planning and administration which is located within the NCERT Campus on Sri Aurobindo Marg, New Delhi. It is deemed to be University and is fully funded by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. It is the technical arm of the MHRD. NIEPA is small but is recognised at the international level and equivalent to IIEP, Paris.
Organizing training programmes, undertaking research in the area of educational planning and administration and consultancy to states are the main areas of institute. From 2007-08, NIEPA also offers MPhil and PhD courses.
U-DISE is one of the main significant activities of NIEPA which is recipient of many National Awards. School Education Plans are exclusively based on U-DISE data which has now been acquired the status of the Official Statistics.
It has got 48 Residential Flats for its employees and a bungalow for Vice-Chancellor who is the head of the institution. NIEPA has got seven story hostel for its trainees and students.
