★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stayed at many HPPWD guest houses in himachal but that is the poorest one. Rooms and furniture is very old. Linen was dirty. Too much humidity and wall danks.
Most of the windows were out of order coz the were no towe bolt.
No towel no soap no water.
Table chairs stools were broken.
Food was good just like home made.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lived living here, the care taker is very hospitable. Upper rooms are more conformable than the lower one. Food is great and customised as per the taste. You can have a walk in the woods in every direction to get a feel of fresh air and awesome scenes. Sunset is a great view from the first floor.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Perfect place for peace lovers. Host mr. Khem Singh was quite helpful and lively person. One need to book rooms in advance as there are only 4 accommodations available in rest House.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chindi is a very small hill town some 90 Km from Shimla. It took approx Three and A Half hours to reach without stoppage. The PWD rest house and HPTDC Hotel Mamleshwar are the only two places to stay here and both are best.
If you wish to watch clear views of the valley, then this is the best place for you. Situated on a hill-top, it gives some pleasant and thrilling views.
Rooms are spacious, though simple. If I remember correctly, it has 6 rooms. Its basically a bungalow style property. Food is made and served by the Watchman and another staff. Its like home made food, simple yet delicious. The property has lots of open space on back and front where kids can play and you can take a leisurely stroll. The best part of the property is a raised platform where some chairs and table are kept under a big tree. You can enjoy your tea anytime here.
When the sun sets and night comes, stars in the sky are infinite.
The Sunrise and Sun set views from here are stunning.
