Their employees don’t even know how digital life certificate / Jeevan Pramaan works when the rest of the country has already adopted it and made the pensioners’ lives a little easier. They don’t even upload the life certificates to the national repository of life certificates. If a pensioner belonging to the Contai treasury tries to fetch his/her previous life certificates based on Aadhaar number on the Umang app, the repository says “DATA NOT FOUND”. The staff here laugh at people when they inquire about remote or online submission of life certificates, and literally force even the physically weak and unwell pensioners (senior citizens) to visit SBI and manually submit physical life certificates. Total disservice to the elders. Such offices aren’t fit for the current age and time and their staff should be sacked from their pen-paper-desk jobs for not adapting changes with changing times.
