β β β β β Aarambh was my first experience where I got to interact with differently skilled kids. Coming in with all my prejudices, it did not take me much time to realise that the interactions with these kids are completely normal! Anita maβam and Anita maβam both went about things very naturally where I was a little scared initially. Instructions were being given to the kids exactly as my mother used to tell me to do things. They were getting scolded for being naughty. I donβt know why but before this I always imagined these kids should not be scolded at. Both madams made sure that there is value addition with each activity. Morals like sharing of resources were inculcated in them. The only difference I observed was the sheer amount of patience both our teachers had. Instructions had to be repeated many times for a single task, and they would repeat these sentences exactly without ever getting irritated. I have been a teacher for primary standard students and was under the influence that teaching 5th graders requires a lot of patience. But at Aarambh I was hit by this new wave of patience. I was amazed and inspired by the patience shown by our teachers. I have been a part of Aarambh for 2 summer camps, and I have learned so much in these 10 days! I wish I could garner an iota of the amount of patience both our Anita madams had! Wishing Aarambh all the best in their endeavours. I hope, and know, that they will achieve their mission of creating vocational possibilities for these children!
