Good assortment of sweets and a delicious & hygienic place for breakfast. Food (breakfast) was served traditionally on banana leaf.

Visit date: 25th December 2022 The perfect luchi- White, fluffy, with a razor thin, fragile top that you can break into small pieces and devour first- making a rocking pair with a moderately yet deliciously spicy alur torkari having a hint of sweetness that plays out as a masterly flick in cricket. These are served piping hot, straight from the chulha. It costs Rs 24 for three in one serving. The serving on banana leaf makes it special in this heritage sweet shop famous for this dish. Update: 27th February 2022 Tried the kochuri (Rs 30 for three in one serving). It was made with a proper daal filling. Served hot like the luchi, with the same curry (see above). The taste was flat. Also felt a stickiness because of the vanaspati used in frying it. Hadn't felt the same with the luchi. It wasn't up to the expectation. I would like to come back only for the luchi.

Old school sweetshop, ideal place for kochuri, luchi and cholar dal, the sweets like pantua, chana bhaja are awesome. They serve food on banana leaf. A must visit for all food lovers Sometimes they serve the food cold, so you need to tell them specifically to make it hot

This is one of the oldest sweet shops in Shaymbazar. They have recently come into limelight for serving kochuris on banana leaves. The sweets are very good indeed, specially the likes of chanar jilipi & pantua. The kochuri itself is very tasty. One can have it either with cholar dal or alur torkari. I personally prefer the alur torkari as it is less sweet. The general sweetness of both the sides is something that I personally don't prefer. Seating capacity is limited, but service is quick. Its not outworldly, but certainly good

Food Quality wala decent, and neat. Relatively the price is costlier as for us it cost ₹96 for 12 thin Puri. All over its good and heritage place . You can visit and have your own experience well.

Awesome experience with North Kolkata special sweet delicacies. Their Luchi Torkari is an amazing combination served in eco friendly Banana leaf. Apart from these, they offer many amazing sweet items that are truly appreciable.

This is not only a shop. This is a heritage place of Kolkata. The Adi Haridas Modak. Located at Syambazar five point crossing and don't confuse it with another Haridas Modak which is just beside of this shop. The shop has been renovated now but the taste of their kochuri, luchi, aloor torkari and daal have been unchanged. The same quality like so many years ago is intact and you will realise after a bite that how they are so so famous. In morning you will get kochuri and daal but after 2pm you will only get luchi and aloor torkari. Main part is they serve in Kola pata which is as nostalgic as an old Kishore Kumar's song. Do visit and pamper your stomach. Here are some photos.
