A certain broker (apparently popular by promotions in College) has successfully scammed me and my flatmates along with another group of friends looking for a flat by assuring that the concerned flat on the upper floors of the building will be ready for possession once the lockin payment is done.
Once the payment is done and the date of finalising the agreement nears, it is communicated to us that the owner of the flat (who also happens to be the developer) isn't ready to rent at the earlier agreed price. The increased rent is the final deal, take it or leave it.
We were successful in taking back the lockin money from the broker earlier, maybe your luck runs out.
