★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Alamganj is one of the popular durga puja among all the puja happens in Burdwan. Actually they represents the previous year themes of kolkata durga puja to the present year. I noticed two times, the themes of Tridhara sommiloni was represented here. By the way except this everything is fine. They have a brand new theme song too. This place is mainly famous for durga puja and except this theme decoration there are a permanent temple too. This area looks like rural area due to lots of rice mills around of it but not, this is in bardhaman sadar.

If you want to experience Burdwan Durga Puja, ideally you should be in the city at least 2days before the festival starts so you can see the finishing touches being put on the idols of the goddess. If that's not possible, there are still plenty of other ways to enjoy it -- all night long! Here's the best of them.
