New Project Launched- E- Waste Collection
AIWC, a more than 90 years old National level NGO, has always remained ahead of the curve in delivering services to the society. On 30th of July 2020, amidst the chaos and confusion of COVID 19 pandemic, the team of new office bearers under the dynamic leadership of Smt Sheela Kakde took a historical step towards making our world greener andthe planet healthier,by setting an e- waste collection centre in collaboration with Hulladek, within the AIWC premises. The centre is open to public for a safe disposal of their e waste such as; old laptops, computers, and all sorts of old electronic gadgets etc. The centre is located at:

It will remain open for public to drop the e-waste from 10 am to 4pm from Monday to Thursday.

‘The entire planning and the opening of the centre happened at a very short notice of that of a week, and it could be possible due to the co-operation and diligence of the office staff,’ said the AIWC President, Mrs Sheela Kakde.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The safest place for women to stay in Delhi. The place is clean, hygienic and full of greenery.
It is very well located, connected and reaching here from anywhere in Delhi is a cakewalk as Mandi House Metro Station is just a few minutes walk from the the location.
Agha Khan Hall is also located in the same building and few of the Delhi's most sort after exhibitions are held here which is a treat.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The hostel wardens are not at all cooperative. They do not understand your problem. The mess of the hostel is good , generally food is good but sometimes quality is much degraded. Otherwise the hostel is good especially for working women not much preferable for students as the environment is not much conducive for studies.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The place offers residential accommodation for working women and female students hailing from outside Delhi. Fee Structure is neither expensive nor inexpensive. No air-conditioned rooms. One of my relative stayed there and hence, from her experience and feedback, this is a decent place to stay provided you share a good rapport with hostel wardens. Food is available in the mess three times a day with packaged lunch facility. Quality of food and menu needs improvement. The biggest boon of staying here is that you're in Lutyens Delhi and it's practically center point of New Delhi. The only turn off is their old redundant BANK DRAFT age transaction system. They'll require a bank draft for everything and no electronic payment system is in place. Overall, a 3 out of 5 rating.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the worst hostels I have stayed in. Wardens are narrow minded, ill mannered and have god complex. Wardens thrive on gossip, fights and rumours. I have stayed there for 3 years. I have nothing good to say about that place. The president and the secretary are hand in gloves with the warden and complaining about them to the cops will only earn you a notice to vacate the hostel. I have called cops and National Commission of women on multiple occasions when the warden asked me to vacate the hostel during lockdown and mentally harassed me. They will get all the negative reviews, however genuine they may be, removed. This is really a shame that an organization meant for women has opened a hostel where they can dominate, harass and trouble young women. There was a report on The Print about an incident during last lockdown. Read that and talk to people, you don't have to trust my words.
