★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of oldest South Indian restaurants in Kolkata...
And to know how popular it is go anyday during lunch time...you might have to wait for a while to get a seat...
We went here to have some light lunch...however we ended up having a Lil more than we could...
Dosas were large and filling...
There was something about the taste that kept me tempting another one...
We also idli-vada and mixed uttapam...
It's definitely a must visit...
Pocket pinch is moderate...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quality has detoriated and its quite crowded with lines. Waiters only listen half to what you say. Management needs to pay more attention to the quality

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So we had gone for buying electronic parts for a project and near the E mall we saw this place and went. It was a very pleasant surprise.
Venue/Ambiance 5/5
the décor is nice and gives a proper homely South Indian feel with the tables, paintings, masks and the plants.
Music 3/5
There was mostly Bengali music playing... it was alright but was not audible during conversation.
Main course: 5/5
So we ordered Masala Dosa [a must to have and lots of varieties], fried idly, poori …. It was really nice and felt authentic South Indian food. The coconut chutney was amazing with the right consistency and Tadka. Sambar was also good and comes with everything. The fried idly was very crunchy and soft in the middle. The poori was nice and the accompanying mix veg. was also well made
Dessert 5/5
We ordered two Jack the ripper, [must try]…. amazing combination of sweet and bitter with ice-cream, fruits, honey … just simply amazing.
So this is by far the best South Indian I have had in Kolkata so far and was very affordable as well. It felt like I was back home... definately returning back for more

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of my favorite places for South Indian food. Anand is a very old restaurant, I have been visiting it for more than 15 years now.
The have maintained their food quality and service to be very good year after year.
This is a very safe option if you want to try South Indian food, you can never go wrong with Anand. The chutney served here is one of the best I ever had. The food here is served fresh and made to order.
A great place for friends, family and colleagues.
