β β β β β It's a heaven with full of angles.
The journey of Antyodoy Anath Ashram istarted about 25 years back, through the emotional act of a local inhabitant, Sri Balaram Karan, by giving shelter to a hapless child of a nearby locality, has culminated to todayβs Antyodoy Anath Ashram, an orphanage per-excellence, where a good number of destitute children are being brought up under the watchful eyes of the ashram management.
Till date, 156 children have been brought up there and at present there are 72 orphans/destitute children residing in the ashram.
Apart from the regular academic courses, the children also learn music, dance, drawing/ painting etc. in the ashram. Some of them are also acquiring professional skills. Many of them are academically brilliant and under the guidance of the ashram management, have been pursuing higher education too. Supriya - a deaf & dumb resident got Hon.D.Lit from Rabindra Bharati University for her creative art performance.
It was a great honor for them when, impressed by the excellent ambience of the ashram and also the facilities available here, the Child Welfare Committee of West Bengal set up their local unit in the ashram premises only. This has significantly facilitated their day to day interactions with the Child Welfare Committee and also enhanced our understanding about our role and responsibilities with respect to the committee.
The Ashram has there own orphanage at Paunsi of East Medinipur and a Guest House at Chaulkhola village near Mondarmoni Sea Beach. Padmashree Dr. Arunoday Mondal attached with this Ashram as a regular visiting physician-n-well wisher.

β β β β β It was a calm and quiet place. Friendly host. Devoid of loud noises and hard drinks. It is little away from beach. But the surrounding rural environment was enchanting. Food is tasty.. they use solar energy. And above all, the effort, they are giving to rear the orphans is appreciable..
