Introducing the new addition to our family - Anvayaa KinCare The story that I am going to narrate now is a happy one and which would be of immense use to those staying away from India and requiring help for their parents/ anyone living in India. Pls note that this is not a paid post and this is written with deepest and heartfelt gratitude?? The Pandemic has created havoc in everyone’s lives in different ways. We were not spared too. Our parents ( Ramani’s mom and dad) living in Mumbai realized it was becoming very difficult to continue on in Mumbai in their apartment. At 88 and 81, they needed help in more ways than one. Ramani and I decided that the only way we could help was to move them to our 2 bedroom apartment that we have in Chennai, which is in a community that has services that could help them. Simply said! Now, how do we physically move them from Mumbai to Chennai when we were living outside of India?! The customer care manager ( sales team) Thomas Abraham patiently listened to our requirements - the main one being would Anvayaa be able to accompany our parents in moving to chennai. The answer was a resounding yes and without hesitation. A huge sense of relief came to us but I must admit it came with skepticism too, as we were wondering if this was just India - over promising and Underdelivering! Nevertheless we went ahead with choosing Anvayaa as we were satisfied with what we heard and had researched. We booked our tickets to be in Chennai on December 11th and Anvayaa was to accompany our parents on December 22nd. Omicron arrived and completely changed our plans. We had to cancel our tickets as we were very apprehensive to be in contact with our parents, coming from a highly “at risk“ country and also worried about institutional quarantine, in case we became covid positive. We decided it was best not to take that risk and cancelled our plans to travel to Chennai. For those of you who have read the Mahabaratha, Sanjaya Gavalgana was immensely devoted to his master, King Dhritarashtra. Sanjaya — who has the gift of seeing events at a distance (divya-drishti) right in front of him, narrates to Dhritarashtra the action in the climactic battle of Kurukshetra. Anvayaa team was our Sanjayaa. Except this was no war, but a Yagna. ??? We set in motion the entire steps for this mega and tectonic ( as our parents call it) move. A WhatsApp group was established by the Anvayaa team, with even the founder of the organisation, key people from the Mumbai and chennai teams, and us in it. Two care managers in both cities were designated for this task - Nikit Mehta and Wasim Sayyed from Mumbai, Dinesh and Parthasarathy from Chennai. Several walkthrough, multiple conference calls were made for the planning of this move. Nikit Mehta - the Director operations in Mumbai is exemplary in his clear leadership skills. Clear communication, consideration for the elderly needs ( however simple) made it a pleasure to coordinate with. Wasim Sayyed: Patience, respect for the elderly and keen sense of judgement made him an excellent candidate to accompany our parents to move to Chennai. Wasim and Nikit made all arrangements for the taxis to pick up our parents, organised the luggage to be transported into the cars, handled the porters and wheel chair assistance staff, the checkin formalities amidst the host of requests we had made to ensure our parents would feel comfortable. Each of those requests were carried out with patience and a smile. Each and every step of the way, Wasim kept giving us updates on the WhatsApp group. He was our Sanjaya… We look forward to a long term relationship with this organisation that is now family and seek the Almighty’s blessings on every employee in this organisation for this exemplary and noble work that they are doing.
