About Army College of Medical Sciences
Established by Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) on April 2008 as a welfare measure with the aim of providing quality medical education leading to award of MBBS degree to the wards of eligible serving Army personnel, Ex-Army personnel, War Widows, Widows of army personnel. Army College of Medical Sciences is a premier and topmost medical college in north India according to India Today ranking. It provides qualitative education to under-graduate medical students, i.e., M.B.B.S. The college is affiliated with Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi and is also recognized by the Medical Council of India (now National Medical Commission, NMC).
ACMS is spread over an area of 25.559 acres and is located next to the ring road in Delhi Cantonment area. Being located in the prime region of Delhi and only 100 meters from the recently inaugurated Delhi Cantt Metro Station, the college is easy to access for the employees, students and visitors. The campus is developed on the concepts of green environment, having 23 classrooms, 7 seminar rooms, 18 labs, 4 lecture halls and one library. It also offers computer centre (MEDLAR room in utility block) with active internet connection for students, two canteens and eight playgrounds for recreational activities.
Mission Statement
1. To establish, nurture and sustain an environment conductive to learning seeking and imparting knowledge, conducting research and cultivating curiosity of mind in students and faculty members.
2.To built an ethos of compassionate and empathetic care and concern among students and faculty members for patients and their relatives.
3. To built an enduring edifice of character and empathy among students and faculty members.
4. To prepare young medical students for a glorious, prestigious and noble career with special knowledge of armed forces requirements, and inculcate in them the spirit to serve the nation and to balance it in equal measure by skills of hand and heart.

They give the seats reserved under Defence category ( Navy and Airforce) to the wards of Army personnel only , hence taking away the opportunities of the children from other Armed Forces. They should give seats to deserving candidates from Navy and Air force under Defence category, hence being impartial to them.

The campus is huge and has all the basic and modern facilities. The facilities here are highly committed to deliver their best to students.
This is more of a charitable college. Army College of Medical Sciences Delhi Cantt is a premier medical college in India, under the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society. The College provides education to under-graduate medical students.
ACMS is affiliated with Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University New Delhi. The College is recognised by the Medical Council of India and has a capacity of one hundred under-graduate student admissions per year.
ACMS came into existence in 2008 to address the requirement of providing quality under-graduate medical education to wards of serving and retired Indian Army personnel. The foundation stone of the College was laid on 28 Jan 2004 by Raksha Mantri Shri George Fernandes. It was inaugurated by Raksha Mantri Shri AK Antony on 05 Jan 2009.
Since inception, ACMS students have been securing top positions in University Examinations, averaging ten Distinctions in every University Examination. They have made their mark in various inter-college academic, sports and cultural competitions.
ACMS is accredited as an A Medical College. Admissions to the College are carried out by the University.
