Our Story

The foundation of Ashish Medical Relief Society was laid in 1994 by a great visionary Late Sh K D Sharma .The aim of this organization was to serve the society and uplift its people.

Ashish Medical Relief Society was served by Late Dr Praveen Kumar Sharma in the form of Charitable Dispensary at 157,Mandoli Road , Nathu Colony Shahadra,Delhi.He served poor and needed from 1994 to 2005.

Since 2005 ,Dr Manu Sharma and Dr Kamna Sharma practiced and served society and their medical and healthcare needs at Shobha Clinic ,Chilla village ,Mayur vihar phase 1,Delhi and Khora village simultaneously.

In 2010 ,Dr Kamna Sharma was blessed with a beautiful baby girl ,with condition of Down Syndrome associated.This loving child made her realise the potential and amazing loving qualities of these God made angels.Here started a new journey to support and create space for children with special needs.She qualified with Bed in Intellectual impairment and pledged to make a difference for children with special needs.

Since 2010 to 2019,Dr Kamna Sharma did lot of work for these children with special needs, majorly intellectual impairment.She connected and organised lots of families with kids with Down Syndrome and Autism.

Organised workshops for special kids including sports workshops ( swimming , skating,yoga,taekwando) as therepeutic techniques channelise their physical needs and sooth sensory disorder.Many children not only learnt this technique as therapy ,even some excelled and performed on another level.

Facilitation of Young athlete program by government to benefit the physical creative sports for especially designed for kids with special needs.

Picnics at places like Kidzania,nehru planetarium,stellar museum to encourage education via seeing and learning.

Educational artificial social  and community handling experiences to understand social and community behavior and generalise on natural available enviroment.

Disability certificate camps in association with Ihbhas ( government entity) and St.Krishna bodh School to do mass certification for Disability certificate. Educating parents on previliges and benefits given to kids by government like enrollment of kids for railway reservation certificate for waivers , taxation waivers .

Guidance and Counselling of parents and children with psychologist and behavioral therapist Dr Uday Sinha Ihbhas.

Conducting free workshops by special educators , Occupational therapists and speech therapists.So that more and more parents can be saved from money trap and be self trained to teach and guide their kids.

Free Medical Camps for children with special needs in association to Felix hospital . Bringing diverse specialists under one umbrella and catering to medical checkup s of number of kids to manage their physical and mental health and well being.

Arranging professional photoshoots to bring out modelling talent of CWSN.This not only provided portfolio to indulge in professional modelling but also gave them confidence to walk on stage for fashion shows and groom their personality.

Many children have inclination and abilities to excel in artistic skills .Ashish Medical Relief Society gave them platform to learn these skills at Institute of modern art by supporting camp for CWSN.

Where on one hand we worked for upliftment of CWSN, Support to their families.We even took stand to do advocacy for inclusion through National trust by co ordinating big event on world down syndrome day by spreading word of awareness through 1000 volunteers on 100 redlights on prime locations of Delhi NCR.

Taking kids to perform on several platforms like Raahgiri,Zarkons fashion show,Sakhi saheli ,Saarthi and many such platforms where kids not just perform but also find their inner talent where they can excel and create a space for themselves.

And the list goes on.....

9 April 2019,We lost our founder Sh K D Sharma with his sudden demise by sudden cardiac arrest .This heart breaking incident
gave us a new direction.The lack of training and care for life in the country.We Ashish NGO pledged to train as many people as possible with CPR ( Cardio pulmonary recucitation)."
