★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Atabagan Health Centre is actually an office of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. In every corporation office in Kolkata has a health centre to diagnose for the treatment of malaria, dengue & fever to control the virus from spreading in surrounding areas. This is not a hospital, it only treats the related patients of dengue and malaria. The KMC works to control such diseases by spraying various medicine to the unhygienic places and residential areas and make announcement from time to time to promote awareness amongst the residents as a part of their duties. It also administer the local system of public governance. This office is very lively and beautiful. It has a nice garden of flowers and trees inside its campus. The location of this place is very good for visitors from all over the Kolkata City. Atabagan is the name of the place, the place is named after a fruit garden, by Ata we mean "Clustered Apple" and by Bagan we mean a "Garden". The name would be like- The garden of Clustered Apple. That garden was existed 40 years back, at present this place is a residential area, but the name still remained the same.
