Even Though, the outer structure is changed, the inner walls, pillars of this masjid have retained the original hindu temple The impressive central dome almost 17 meters high above the ground can not be noticed from the front because of the presence of a tall tower (at 23 meters).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In 1408 A.D., Ibrahim Shah Sharqi built the Atala Masjid which came to be considered as the ideal model for the construction of the other mosques of Jaunpur. In this mosque, beautiful galleries were built by surrounding it with artistic walls. Its height is more than 100 ft. There are three huge gateways for entrance. The total perimeter of the mosque is 248 ft. Its construction was begun by Feroze Shah in 1393 AD.

Actually the carvings on the walls of the mosque and the artefacts inspired by these Hindu culture are very breathtaking and pleasing.
It looks like a mosque, but the image of the temple is still clearly visible in it.
