★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Athenium is synonymous to the emotions of the Bengali community, since it was the residence of famous Ray dynasty of Kolkata - Shri Upendra Kishore Roy Chowdhury, Shri Sukumar Ray, Shri Satyajit Ray - the cultural legends of Bengali literature and films. A portion of this house is a primary school named as Athenium institution. In many of Ray's novels, we get the mention of this particular school.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I enrolled as a class V student in this nostalgic school and passed out HSC in 1970. No, at our times, this was not a Co-Ed, but only Boys' school. Shri Bhola Babu was our Hon'ble Head Master. BBC (Shri Binoy Bhushan Chakravorty), physics teacher, Shri Indu Babu Maths teacher as I faintly remember. I miss those days.
