About Axis Bank

A central tenet in the Bank’s Policy on Corporate Governance is commitment to ethics, integrity, accountability and transparency. To ensure that the highest standards are maintained in these aspects on an on-going basis and to provide safeguards to various stakeholders (including shareholders, depositors and employees) the Bank has formulated a ‘Whistleblower Policy’. The Policy provides stakeholders with the opportunity to address serious concerns arising from irregularities, malpractices and other misdemeanours, if any, committed by the Bank’s personnel by approaching a Committee of senior officials of the Bank, set-up for the purpose (known as the Whistleblower Committee). Concerns relating to senior management can be reported directly to the Audit Committee of the Board. The Policy is intended to encourage stakeholders to report suspected or actual occurrence of illegal, unethical or inappropriate actions, behaviour or practices by staff without fear of retribution. To ensure smooth flow and management of complaints under Whistleblower policy, a web-based application – www.cwiportal.com has also been set up which provides an option for anonymous reporting thereby enabling the stakeholders to lodge their complaints online over a secure platform without fear of revelation of identity. The Policy contains provisions protecting Whistleblowers from any unfair action prejudicial to their interest. The Audit Committee of the Board reviews, on a quarterly basis, a synopsis of the complaints received and the resolution thereof.

The bank was founded in December 1993, as UTI Bank, opening its registered office in Ahmedabad and corporate office in Mumbai.[9] UTI Bank began its operations in 1993, after the Government of India allowed new private banks to be established. The bank was promoted in 1993 jointly by the Administrator of the Unit Trust of India (UTI-I),[10] Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), General Insurance Corporation, National Insurance Company, The New India Assurance Company, The Oriental Insurance Corporation and United India Insurance Company. The first branch was inaugurated on 2 April 1994 in Ahmedabad by Dr. Manmohan Singh, the then finance minister of India. In 2001 UTI Bank agreed to merge with Global Trust Bank, but the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) withheld approval and the merger did not happen. In 2004, the RBI put Global Trust into moratorium and supervised its merger with Oriental Bank of Commerce. In 2003, UTI Bank became the first Indian bank to launch a travel currency card.[11][12] In 2005, it was listed on London Stock Exchange.[13] UTI Bank opened its first overseas branch in 2006 in Singapore. That same year it opened a representative office in Shanghai, China. In 2007, UTI Bank opened a branch in the Dubai International Financial Centre and branches in Hong Kong. In 2008, it opened a representative office in Dubai.[14] With effect from 30 July 2007, UTI Bank changed its name to Axis Bank.[15] In 2009, Shikha Sharma was appointed as the MD and CEO of Axis Bank.[16] Axis Bank opened a branch in Colombo in October 2011, as a Licensed Commercial Bank supervised by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.[17] Also in 2011, Axis Bank opened a representative offices in Abu Dhabi.[18] In 2011, Axis bank inaugurated Axis House, its new corporate office in Worli, Mumbai.[19] In 2013, Axis Bank's subsidiary, Axis Bank UK commenced banking operations. Axis Bank UK has a branch in London.[20] Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is the brand ambassador of Axis Bank.[21] In 2014, Axis Bank launched  its first ‘All Women Branch’ in Patna.[22] In 2015, Axis Bank opened its representative office in Dhaka.[23] In 2019, Amitabh Chaudhry takes over as the MD & CEO from 1 January.[24] As of 31 March 2016, the bank has over 50,001 employees. It spent ₹26.7 billion (US$370 million) on employee benefits during the FY 2012–13.[

The staff is incompetent and doesn't seem to be afraid of anything. They act as if we are fools depositing our money in their bank. Had submitted a account conversion form and these fools lost it. They didn't even bother to tell me this and I got to know when I was in dire need of the other facilities. Someone from the headquarters need to fire some of the staff. Specially the guy sitting at the front desk.

The most unprofessional staff i've seen at a bank. They are worse than Sbi staff. Went to the bank twice for opening a savings account, while all they did was dodging Around with some app and otp. And account still not opened. No good response from costumer support. Opted for other private bank instead, which took 15 minutes for all the process. This place doesn't even deserve 1 star. Pathetic.

Provide good ATM services where you can deposit your money into your account and you can also take many and use their fast service. Bank staffs are cooperative.

If i have option i ll give it 0 . Fake location no bank was there .. do not waste your time. And dont go for another reviews. I dont know where the bank when i was standing at the location.

(1)Axis Bank Narela branch_Employee's behaviour is good.But they require more training on there work & job.They are taking too much time for fullfill customer's need.Air condition system is not working.I gone for adding my wife name as joint account holder on 06may22/11:00am & wasted time upto 1500hrs.but after one week that process isn't completed.&(2)I submit a request on 12may22 for nominee updation, that also still not completed.Employees are not knowing how to proceed to do fast.
