★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best Hindu temple.. The Taraknath temple, dedicated to the hindu god shiva worshiped as taraknath, is a major pilgrimage spot in the town of tarakeswar west bengal, india. Built in 1729, the temple is an atchala structure of bengal temple architecture with a 'natmandir' in front. Close by are the shrines of kail and lakshmi narayan . Dudhpukur, a tank to the north of the Shiva temple is believed to fulfil the prayers of those taking a dip in it.[

Honestly, Temple need renovation.
You can't see the actual shiv ling.. no lights in the temple. So once you enter in main temple, you have focus on Shiv ling by touching it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mandir is good.there are so many trains available from howrah to tarakeswar from morning and the journey will take 1hour and 45mins. There are some public who will guide you to the mandir from station but don't listen them they are fooling common people . Worship materials like water , flower, candles are very costly. Food was very bad. I must say please carry your food and worship materials for puja. Idol of shiva was very beautiful and would catch the eye.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mandir is good but the environment is Not quite good. The priest will try to loot you. Don't go with the flow , choose the minimum amount. They will insist but don't accept.
