Baiju Temple is a collective name for three temples, which are located to the west of Baba Baidyanath Temple complex. Situated in the main market of Deoghar, these temples were built by the heir of main priests of Baba Baidyanath Temple. The common feature of these temples is that each temple has a huge Shivalingam inside its premises. As stated in Hindu mythology, Baiju, a Bhil boy, was imparted knowledge by Lord Vishnu about the worshipping of Lord Shiva. Lord Vishnu told him to pour water or jal on Shivalingam for commencing puja. After a long search, when he did not find any pot for collecting water, he filled his mouth with water and poured it upon the Shivalingam. Lord Shiva got impressed with the simplicity of this boy and appeared to him. Since then the temple is known by the name of that Bhil boy. . {?????}

As per Hindu mythology, Baiju, a Bhil boy, was imparted knowledge by Lord Vishnu about the worshipping of Lord Shiva. Lord Vishnu told him to pour water on Shivalingam for commencing puja. Baiju Temple is a collective name for three temples situated in the main market, nearer to Clock Tower of Deoghar. These temples were built by the heir of main priests of Baba Baidyanath Temple. The common feature of these temples is that each temple has a Shivalingam inside its premises. It appeared to us that the temples were not maintained properly at present. The surroundings of the temples were not cleaned. We could not find any priests inside any of the temples in the evening. Just watch some flowers over the Lingas as a proof that daily pujas were being held there. The names of three temples as inscribed in front of each are Dudheswar Mandir, Jageswarnath Mandir and Baiju Mandir. On the opposite side of the road we watched another temple claimed as old Baiju Temple. It appeared a bit larger than the above mentioned temple. Some people were offering pujas there at the time of our visit. It was not also maintained properly. All the temples are situated within a very congested area. I think local administration is not at all interested to promote those temples.
