Today Balmer Lawrie is a Mini-Ratna I Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India. It became a Private limited company in 1924 with a Paid up share capital of ₹40 lakhs, a Public limited company in 1936 and then a Government of India Enterprise in 1972.

This great company has not looked back since then. Today its a multi-location and multi verticals mini navratna Company spread across India and with joint ventures in India and abroad. Visiting the head office is a very memorable experience that take you back to the times when the Company was founded and run by the Britishers. The board enlisting all the illustrious directors of the Company is worth taking note of. Old letters and pictures are displayed in the main hall adjacent to the board room. The imposing structure etches an permanent impression on your mind.
