★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Deteriorated quite a bit in terms of variety and collection over the years sad to see such an iconic store go down this route ... At one point of time they were the go to place to buy crafts ... They still make some amazing kantha embroidered bags and pencil holders

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love this place, and the genteel disinterest of the polite shopkeepers in pushing a sale. Every time I've been here in the last decade, I've had to push and prod the people into showing me things that I can choose from. Yet I love their handicrafts, their khesh and linen sarees, and their embroidered stoles and kurtas. I cherish their civil disengagement never changes into harrowing salesmanship.
