One of the beautiful tomb and the sad part is, most of us don't even notice this place. It is on the way towards Hauz Khas Village area.

The Barah Khamba Tomb at Hauz Khas As the name suggests, the square construct has twelve pillars. Sitting on high ground, the small garden complex has ruins of a well and a bastion-like structure within it. Pillars within the Barah Khamba Tomb. arah Khamba. Situated near the Hauz Khas complex, the Barah Khamba is believed to be a Lodi era tomb. It derives it name from the twelve pillars of varying widths which support the roof

Open to the public but best enjoyed in the earlier part of the day as later on various riff raff come to this point to enjoy it's small garden. No entrance fee required, with a bit of effort persons with reduced mobility can visit. Built during the Lodhi era, this building contained a few cenotaphs within it and but has a few of them outside it's roof area too. It's name derives from the 12 pillars (3 on each side) which support and hold up the building, perhaps a precursor to the Baradari in Indian architecture.

This is a very clean and historical place and protected by archeological survey of India. The place has guards and the timing of compound is limited to morning to evening. In the night it is closed and again open next morning around 6AM. The place is good to sit also in summer having good air ventilation.
