★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very famous temple in Barisha or Behala Sakherbazar area (Kolkata-700008)... famous for it's fair... chandi temple committee arraged a fair every year in the month of December... this fair attracts huge crowd every year... this chadi puja actually started by the Sabarna Roy Choudhury family, considering as one of the oldest temple in Behala/Barisha area...
People who are interested to visit this fair (held in December every year) from outside of behala or barisha area, need to arrived at Sakherbazar by any behala sakherbazar or thakurpur bound vehicle...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This puja has a great tradition. There is a mela(fair) associated with this puja. The Chandi puja was started in the Bengali year of 1200 by one of the then eminent zamindar of Kolkata, Late Shree Mahesh Chandra Roy Chowdhury.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the historic Puja of Kolkata. This year it's turned into 228 years. Due Covid pandemic this year Puja & Mela has been for only 3 days even after maintaining the Covid protocol properly. Maa Chandi may blessed us all.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Always my favorite place... mostly during Chandi Mela. This time it's 227th year the Mela is celebrated. People from different places visit the Mela during this time. The bhog arrangement is fantastic. I think it's the oldest Mela in South Kolkata. Everyone do come here and enjoy the Mela atmosphere.

It's a very famous Hindu temple of Maa Chandi (Durga).
It's good to visit during Chandi-Mela.
Although Temple require more maintenance.
