★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Batalakere is a small but beautiful rural lake close to Muthanallur lake. Thanks to the efforts of determined citizen and authorities, the Rajakaluve to the lake has been cleared and consequently the lake is filled with water. The spot is very scenic and peaceful. Lots of birds in and around the lake( Little Grebes, Cormorants, Lapwings, Herons, Grey Heron, Egrets, Water hen etc, in addition to many small birds like Ashy Prinia, Pied Bush chat). In addition there are very many butterfly species as well. Access to the lake is through a mud road. A great lake worth visiting
