★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Benu Bana Chaya is a public water park and tourist spot in Kolkata, West Bengal. The park is located at a distance of about 8 kms from the Sonarpur railway station.
It has been built by the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority and was opened to the public in 2013. It has green areas with plenty of flowering plants where people can sit or take a walk. It also has two lakes within its premises, where visitors can indulge in boating and fishing. There is also a dedicated children's play area. Another eye-catching feature of the park is the tram restaurant, where diners can eat sitting inside actual trams which have been repurposed into eating joints.
The best time to visit here is during the winter months between October and March. Visitors can expect to spend 1 hour or more at the place. It is a perfect place for spending some time away from the chaos of the city. The best time to visit the place is in the early hours of evening around sunset. It can be visited during timings 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM in the evening. There is an entry fee of INR 10 per person as well as INR 10 for parking.
