Buddhist caves with historical significance. People interested in ancient structures will love the place. A bit of climbing involved but is manageable.

This is approximately 10 KM from Karla point on Old Mumbai Pune highway. There are 224 steps from base and steps repairing work in progress. Better to go in morning. You may budget at least 1 to 1.5 hrs to see it in detail and enjoy scenery. Amount of work is marvellous and in detail. There are different sizes of caves for meditation, prayer and rest with spring water access planning.

Great place of Buddhist Architecture! This place has ticket booth and security. No food/water available inside the premises. Early morning visit is recommended for the sun rise view. I love historic places so I spent almost 3 hrs studying possible aspects of the site. Super serene and mesmerizing experience!

Go for it if you can make the climb, the hardest part is climbing the long stairs to the cave, caves are well maintained, If it's worth the climb it's subjective, i personally loved the caves and the way it is preserved, quiet fascinating tickets are ₹25 per person for Indians and ₹300 for Non Indian tourists

It is of ancient Buddhist excavation that can be located steep up on a hill being protected as national monument by ASI. Appear good with least expectation, not much to explore. But is quite good this centuries back old religious center with majestic meditation hall and few hill carved caves. The interesting part of this Bhaja Caves is prayer Hall been embedded with magnanimous stupa. Along with group of stupas with various sizes can be found along side of the caves. Ancient Buddhist inscriptions can be found among few caves. Do carry water bottles to stay hydrated. Management can take up further development activities by organising sunshades along the stairs up to the Hill along with basic amenities.

This is an old Buddhist cave dated centuries back.. it’s a climb of about 20-30 mins .. steps in the beginning are good but later it gets a bit difficult and tiring as it’s quite steep. Not meant for senior citizens or heart patients. If u like history and have interest you must visit. , though the place isn’t well maintained. Some parts have fallen while others seem to be recently made.. It’s worth the trek once u reach on top.. it gives a good view. Dosent have washrooms on the top so pls make sure if ladies or children are accompanying they are well taken care off before hand.

Such a great experience. You will find out how the india was ahead of all countries in that period. Caves for mediation, meetings, underground water and lot of things. If someone want to experience peace in this busy world that place is meant for it.

It's a great place to visit. Don't expect a fun experience. It's for someone who is interested in history, archeology etc. There are 200+ steps to climb. We reached at the base around 10 am. It was sunny and windy day. I would suggest to carry a hat or scarf and a water bottle. On the way there were few stalls of lime water. Its a peaceful place with great views of Sanhyadri.
