β β β β β North Kolkata is known for the best sweets. Bhim Chandra Modak is one of the most known prestigious sweet shops of the area. It is known gor it's uniqueness and irreplaceable quality. You can't find these sweets anywhere else. These sweets are exclusively made by the artisans of this shop. It has an antique clock, specially made for the shop and was gifted. The numbers written in Bangla words in this antique clock. It is exhibited on the wall. Try any sweet if you pass by, you won't regret.

I am a handicapped having polio on my leg. I can ride 2 wheeler, bicycles and even drive automobile. I have several bicycles and I always fit Ralson tyres. I make long rides and hence myself do the maintenance and repair of my bicycles. I bought 2 noβs 26X1 1/2 tyres from Krishna cycles , Kolkata before lockdown. Last week during inspection I find a portion of the side wall is bulged. On opening I find the bead wire is broken. I took the tyre to your Kolkata office. According to them the bead wire is broken due to tyre lever. One thing is that the tyre never had any puncture nor was it removed from rim. Secondly, sometimes due to over inflation the rubber comes off from the bead. But the bead wire breaking is something unusual and is actually manufacturing defect. Your Kolkata office allowed replacement after much argument and I had to pay Rs 90/-. They told me that this is done as a special case and they will not do any further. On inspections of the other tyre I find that it also have same bead breakage. This tyre is fitted in the front wheel and this also is never removed from rim for any puncture etc. It is quite evident that the tyres are having this bead breaking issues. Hence I would request you to please do the needful and replace the tyre.

β β β β β The place is a very traditional one, the sweets are of the highest quality. It remains very busy and always packed with people. I guess they have invented some kind of sweet. One thing is that the price is at the highest end and for the same price someone can get almost double the quantity. But you are paying for a part ok Kolkata history and sweet of the highest quality and standard, which they are able to keep up for more than a century.
