★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bhubanbari is a universe of its own. I am so glad I found a home away from home. As soon as you enter, you will notice the artwork and get a feel of an open and honest mind, the rooms are perfect and clean, the outside porch / balcony is where one can spend all the time with the birds and plants. Walk the old steps to Gaurab and his amazing rooftop pad, stories and life. There is no way I am staying anywhere else in Kolkata.
Thank you Bhubanbari, you have my heart.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A warm welcome when I arrived the hotel. Check-in was easier that I have ever experience in India. Love the warm touch on the WhatsApp group chat (with the staffs) after I enter the room, Staff were very helpful in all ways and offered tea and coffee at every opportunity.
The hotel is charming, authentic and has been very tastefully and lovingly restored. All rooms are well fitted in style with vintage props and materials to reflect the old building. Room are super clean, love the bed liner and the comfy of the pillows. Toilet are clean with Pure Essential Oil toiletries.
The location is interesting if you want to explore older parts of the city, great area to wander around. Those old buildings are amazingly beautiful.
Last but not least, Host Gaurav Pandey is the best host I ever came across. Must visit during Durga puja.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Loved everything about this 1900s house - the eye-popping murals on the walls, the old fashioned narrow stairs, the huge airy rooms and most of all the three sunlit terraces with couches to lounge on. It’s not for people who want a hotel with housekeeping and room service. It is genuinely an old Kolkata home that has been lovingly restored. The owner, Gaurab Pandey, tells the best stories, if you make the time, on his fifth floor terrace under the stars. If I come back to Kolkata I am staying here again for sure.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The fusion ambience of vintage North Calcutta and its modern contemporary harmoniously preserved through the renovations at Bhubanbari homestay had already captured our hearts when we came across it in the pictures – the reason which drew us to choose it for our staycation. However, our actual living experience there was far greater than words can suffice.
From its well-maintained room and bathroom along with a functional kitchen, to its cozy outdoor sitting area on the terrace, as well as the staircase wrapped in Bohemian murals – we are absolutely in love with the place! Watching the sky gradually light up at daybreak and listening to the birds chirping from the terrace at Bhubanbari took us back to the pious mornings in Varanasi. The only inconvenience we ever faced was in finding the place through Google maps, for the location coordinates provided there were slightly misplaced.
On a final note, we'd especially like to express our gratitude for the lovely hosts of Bhubanbari for making us feel like being at home, away from home, that we're looking forward to returning to everytime we're in the city.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ "Bhubanbari" -I always had a craving to stay in the heritage buildings of North Kolkata. But I never had any idea that universe will give me a gift which is more than what I demanded. Bhubanbari had a warmth of its own. The eyes painted on the walls and greenery embraces the guests as soon as you step into that place. Gaurav, the host is an absolute sweetheart. I stayed there for just a day but I can say just one thing if you are on the journey of being away from materialistic stuffs and in search of your true self then Kolkata has Bhuban Bari where you can do that. Gaurav has a very rich taste in music and if you get along with him well it will be a treat to your ears. Bhubanbari doesn't calls everyone. You dont choose bhubanbari,it chooses you as a guest.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bhubanbari heritage homestay...a must place to visit if you visit Kolkata or in kolkata and have yet not visited this amazing place. The art, the decor, the views from terrace of this place takes you to another world altogether. Plant lovers must and need to see this place, I assure you, one will be in the awe of the scenario, the aroma of those plants are something to yearn for. Being a visitor there for the first time, i almost felt at home. There is so much to say for this homestay. It feels like I can go on and on. But to know more you need to visit it once in your lifetime. I am sure you won't just visit it once you would want more of it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I wanted to live the old-Kolkata experience, hence chose Bhubanbari. Ideal for a solotraveller on a sojourn, it did not disappoint me.
Gaurabh was very helpful in answering all my queries prior to my visit and helped out with whatever I needed and whenever I needed it. The house itself is full of character. The beautiful murals, created by various artists, tall grilled windows draped with curtains made out of saris, wrought iron staircases, centre table made out of slatted window- all add to the unique fusion of old world charm and art.
Food can be ordered from nearby great takeaways and I did opt for Bengali cuisine. There's a great tea-shack and samosa shop just roundvthe corner and all basic amenities are within a minute's reach. I never have breakfast, hence can't comment on that but I could make my tea and had access to filtered water and the fridge to store bottled water.
The roof terrace provides the cool welcome breeze in the evenings if you want a couple of hours to unwind.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ BhubanBari is door to the universe. You heed to the call and go to find it. It opens deeply to yourself, stars and extraordinary things. It is an amazing place to stay, relax and explore the city of joy. It has full of positive vibes and fills you with high energy. Pleasant rooms, Comfortable bed, Vibrant walls, beautiful garden and wonderful sky connected me to nature and beyond. Totally loved staying at such a quaint place and reflect. They serve freshly cooked meals that is awesome in quality and taste. I really enjoy the food. There also lot of eateries and famous sweet shops nearby. Easy connectivity to anywhere by all means of transportation. Great staying place in the heart of the historic city. I truly love it.
