Bombay Hospital and Medical Research Centre Mumbai, the centre for quality medical care not only across India, but also the South Asia. A city that has a rich medical history. Situated in South Mumbai is the Bombay Hospital and Medical Research Centre, the medical hub of India’s biggest metropolis. Established over five decades ago, in 1952, The Bombay Hospital was the result of the enormous philanthropy displayed by Shri Rameshwardas Birla, Founder Chairman of the Bombay Hospital Trust. It began as a 440 bed hospital whose objective was, in its founder’s words, β€œto render the same level of service to the poor that the rich would get in a good hospital.” Today, the hospital has grown to house over 830 beds, some of the country’s most advanced diagnostic & surgical equipment, and offers a comprehensive range of specialised medical services. The objective however, remains unchanged. Which is why 33% of the patients treated are in the general ward and pay only for their medicines and consumables. The free OPD at the hospital successfully treats in excess of 1,00,000 patients each year. Ever since it was established in 1952, the Bombay Hospital has instilled in its patients a sense of genuine trust. Trust that has been built by combining superior medical treatment with a caringly humane attitude. Which is why, in excess of two lakh people confidently walk through its hallowed doors every year, year after year. It is on this sound foundation that the hospital has based its pursuit of excellence in every field of medical specialisation. This has seen fruition in the form of the Medical Research Centre now known as the M P Birla Medical Centre. The Bombay Hospital presently ranks among the finest multi-speciality tertiary level medical centres in the country. The internationally renowned panel of doctors and consultants in every field of specialisation have, at their disposal, cutting-edge equipment. Supported by a highly trained and professional nursing staff. Little wonder then, that the Bombay Hospital attracts patients from every strata of society. Be it a factory worker from rural India, a high-flying executive from a multi-national company or the likes of former Prime Minister and Governor of Maharashtra

When a patient is admitted in hospital it is with the trust that he will get proper care and will get well soon. But it is opposite in case of Bombay hospital. Doctor gives the treatment and he cannot do anything more but the care must be taken by nursing staff and management. In my case my grandfather just fell from the bed after complaining that the bed is not suitable and SO CALLED CMO WILL NOT CHANGE THE BED. MOREOVER THEY DENIED THE FACT THAT BED WAS NOT IN PROPER CONDITION. SUCH IS THE SITUATION OF SO CALLED BOMBAY HOSPITAL. We cannot imagine what will be the condition of relative attending the patient because he will be played just like a football , run from one department end to another. I experienced that Bombay hospital's management is worst than Government hospital. But they don't care if you complain or cry. Because they experience such situations daily and routinely they deny everything worse happening at their premises. Their ICU WARDS are like a fair or mela every patient relatives coming like they hear to purchase vegetables. ICU waiting rooms are fully crowded with attendies ranging upto 10 pax. When a patient is serious his relatives care and pray for Speedy recovery. They don't want to be tensed. But they make you bring medicine from ground floor. And don't even talk about mama and mausi and their tips . They act like if they are government servent. Worst Moreover their legal team is ready with all fake supporting documents. When a patient travels to Mumbai for treatment He hadn't expected such will happen. I seriously condemn their behaviour. Doctors are best but the management is worst. I don't want to have such worst experience even for my fiersest enemy. How much I write falls short and such is the condition of Bombay hospital management. Government hospital with pensioned staff so no fear of losing the job. Caution :- think before entering the premises. You may think it's joke but once you experience you get to pity on your decision.

Not even give a one star to this hospital. Here are the reasons 1) My aunty had 2 blood vomits in the morning, We admitted her around 10am (SAT) in the morning, paid for covid test and then they suddenly told her to do sonography, endoscopy, xray of legs, heart monitoring etc etc 2) She was admitted around 10am but the treatment started at 5-6pm (general ward) 3) The nurses over there used to give a number written on paper. We need to go down to pharmacy to bring medicines. Unnecessary stuff like injections, glucose, gloves what not. (Everyday the bill use to be around 3-4k) for 8 days. In pharmacy there was a huge line. The guy used to tell me come after 1-2hr for medicines. 4) On that same night dr told to shift her to Recovery room for treatment. He said this treatments was not possible in General ward. The charge for 1 day was around 4500Rs. 5) The Mavshi and Mama, they didn't even helped my aunt for peeing. On the day of discharge came for TIPS. shifting patient from RR to GW, the mama asked for tip.Taking the patient and bring back after lab test.they asked for tips. 6) Doctors are little helpful. 7) The treatment of her gout is still not done(its paining like hell for her) 8) The bill shot upto 1.5lakhs for 8days.Thank god it was general ward if it was AC ward the bill would be x2 or x3. 9) There was a little guy who had a knot in his private area. He was poor. The dr and hospital didn't even paid attention to him. 10) The hospital didn't have clothes that would fit my aunty. Made a mistake by admitting her to this hospital. The hospital is there only to loot money nothing else. I would rather prefer going to a govt hospital like KEM, JJ ,St. George instead of this loot hospital.
