★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Veri old Kali Mata Temple in Chandannagar area. This place is also famous for its contribution in Indian freedom struggle with Rishi Arobindo, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and many others. Also for Jagotdhatri Puja is a big occasion here. The Hindu cremation ground is near by.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This south facing Hindu temple of Maa Chandi is at Borai-Chanditala , Chandannagar and nearly 3 km from Chandannagar Railway station (eastern side)of Howrah-Bandel rail route. It is also near to G.T. road.
Before French reign Chandannagar was known as Farasdanga. In long past different parts of Chandannagar were known as Boro ( mentioned in Manasa mongal kabya of Bipprodas Piplai ), Khalisani ( in Digbijoy Prakash ), Gondalpara (in Chandi mongal ).
About 500 years ago Srimonta Saudagar worshiped Maa BoraiChandi here. This Jor-Bangla style temple ( with a beautiful natmandap in front ) was built in nineteenth century.
Natmandap and porch rest on decorated pillars with triple archway to the Garvagriha.
Maa BoraiChandi is worshiped daily by devotees from 8 am to 2 pm and 4 pm to 8 pm.
Annual religious utsab is from 28th to 30th Chaitra ( Bangla month ).
