जिस दिन भक्त प्रार्थना कर—कर के हारता है, हारता चला जाता है; पराजय के सिवा और कोई स्वाद नहीं मिलता; विफलता, विफलता, विफलता—विफलता बिलकुल छाती पर पत्थर की तरह बैठ जाती है—तब एक दिन बोध होता है: परमात्मा बहरा नहीं है। जरूर मेरी प्रार्थना में कहीं भूल हो जा रही है—मैं जो भाषा बोल रहा हूं, वह परमात्मा तक नहीं पहुंच सकती। अहंकार मेरी प्रार्थना का गला घोंट देता है।
उस दिन अहंकार चारों खाने चित्त जमीन पर गिर जाता है। फिर उठती है एक प्रार्थना। तुम उस प्रार्थना को कर नहीं सकते—वह प्रार्थना उठती है। तुम्हारे किए की प्रार्थना नहीं है वह। अचानक तुम पाते हो, तुम्हारे भीतर से एक आह उठी! एक तुमुलनाद उठा! तुम देखते हो कि उठ रहा है। तुम उठाने वाले नहीं हो। तुम करने वाले नहीं हो। तुम कर्ता नहीं हो अब। अब तो यह अवश हुआ जा रहा है।
जिस दिन तुम्हारे बिना किए प्रार्थना हो जाती है, उसी दिन पहुंच जाती है। तुम्हारे द्वारा की गई प्रार्थना नहीं पहुंचेगी। तुमने की कि खराब कर दी। तुम जो भी करोगे, उससे तुम्हारा अहंकार भरेगा। कृत्य से अहंकार भरता है। जिस दिन प्रार्थना सहज उठेगी। जिसको कबीर ने कहा है: साधो सहज समाधि भली। जिस दिन सहज उठेगी। सहज का मतलब? तुम्हारे किए न उठेगी, तुम्हारे आयोजन से न उठेगी, तुम्हारी व्यवस्था से न उठेगी। जिस दिन तुम पाओगे कि तुम तो कुछ भी नहीं कर रहे हो और प्रार्थना उठी जा रही है; तुम तो नहीं झुक रहे हो और झुके जा रहे हो; तुम हो ही नहीं मौजूद, तुम बिलकुल रिक्त खड़े हो; तुम तो हार गए; तुम तो अपनी हार में मर गए—अब तुम्हारे चले जाने के बाद जो बचा है तुम्हारे भीतर, वह प्रार्थना में तल्लीन है। उसी दिन प्रार्थना पहुंच जाती है। उसी दिन परमात्मा की बदली तुम्हें घेर लेती है।
झुक आई बदरिया सावन की, सावन की मनभावन की।
वह बदली तो तुम्हारी राह देख रही है कि कब तुम झुको कि वह भी झुक आए। क्योंकि वह, झुक गया है जो, उसी पर झुक सकती है। जो मिट गया है, उसी पर बरस सकती है। जो अभी अकड़ा खड़ा है, उस पर नहीं।
जो खाली है, उसी को भर सकेगा परमात्मा। जो अभी भरा है, उसको कैसे भरेगा?

The day when the devotee loses after praying, he goes on losing; There is no taste except defeat; Failure, failure, failure—failure just sits on the chest like a stone—then one day the realization comes: God is not deaf. Will not arise due to you, will not arise from your planning, will not arise from your arrangement. The day you find that you are doing nothing and the prayer is being raised; You are not bowing down and being bowed down; You are not there, you are standing completely blank; you have lost; You have died in your defeat – now after you are gone what is left within you is engrossed in prayer. The prayer arrives on the same day. On the same day the revenge of God surrounds you.
