★ ★ ★ ★ ★ •Bottomline - Wouldn't recommend ever. Beginners in music are very susceptible to being fooled by the name 'Trinity'. Look up ABRSM, that exists too, if you're actually good enough at music.
•Justification:
I am as much of a technical musician as I am a passionate one. My brother (now 10 years old) has been learning keyboard here for a while now, complained of an abusive instructor who was then replaced by someone who is of a better disposition apparently. All said and done, he doesn't know what a 'quaver' is after learning for more than 2 years. They charge INR 2.5K monthly and a fine upon exceeding due date.
I can assure he has above average intelligence. He has absolutely no clue as to what's going on.
•Direct message to the organisation:
Don't ruin this sector with disgusting money making policies, I will bring in Trinity and every other governing body that I am connected to, you will face consequences of you don't mend your ways. I shall try to come down to outlet in a few days now that I am in town.
•PS: I teach music to people in a student town and I don't charge money. Knowledge isn't my property, yet no one can steal it from me either. Don't be the reason why this soceity is degrading, let music be that one pure thing connecting humans. This was the last thing I expected from Kolkata, where I've heard of the flourishing music scene.
•Possibly won't reach them and it might not be the place to say this but here's my two cents for parents in Kolkata since it says a lot about the mentality:
Education isn't all about "Dui baela jobordosti porte bosha!"
Shove that mentality right up your old gen... well, whatever excretory systems you had back then with the cycles your fathers used to travel on all day apparently, not that it makes any sense.
My parents are Bengali, I was brought up in Mumbai, I have managed to stand up for myself AND OTHERS (let me make it clear), knowing what is (supposed to be) right in soceity.
