In order to taste this truly fairly, I'd have to drop my ratings for all previous eateries I've ever reviewed. I had not anticipated any place to completely throw me off balance. Fantastic will be an understatement in describing the food here. I'm not even going to try to use my usual __/50 system. • Ambience: Nice and cozy place, hidden away from the hustle and bustle of E M Bypass, enough to be peaceful, but not enough to be difficult to get to. Overall nothing to complain about. Has both indoor (air-conditioned) and outdoor seating. Not a ton of seating space, so large groups (>10) may have to book ahead. • Service: Amazing. Polite, helpful, accomodating of special requests. Again, nothing to complain about, at all. Oh, and pets are allowed inside if they're well behaved, so that's a plus! Now coming to the main point, the food. Here's what we ordered: (1 plate of each, served 2 overall) 1. Roasted Chilli Bacon with French Fries (₹300): This is not a standard menu item, but we requested to swap out the mashed potatoes for some fries and they obliged! Very well done, no flaws in quality, taste or texture, and was served in ample quantity. 2. Pork Stroganoff with Parsley Rice (₹425): Amazingly fragrant, but none of the flavours conflicted with each other. It worked all together so well. Properly cooked, and even the pork was tender, something that's almost always outside the control of the chef. I was very pleasantly surprised by this. 3. Chicken Piccata with Cheesy Mashed Potatoes and Roasted Vegetables (₹365): Okay, those in the know, are already aware of how high-end this dish is, how infrequently it's available, and how expensive it is. So I was at first surprised, and then skeptical of this. None of that was justified. They blew the lid on my expectations off into intergalactic space. This is what I would expect from somewhere like Mocambo or other long-reputed cafés of colonial-era Kolkata, not from a relatively new establishment in Patuli. A new bar has been set, this is the first time I just had to talk to the chef and compliment him. All of the components, done perfectly. There's no other way to put it. Ample in quantity for 2 hungry people as well! 4. Chocolate Almond Brownie with Ice Cream (₹250): Okay, normally I never order dessert, but I had to make an exception this time, and I'm glad I did. If the piccata launched me into outer space, this gave me a new home there. I don't think I've been so giddy with pleasure after eating in years, this just put me in my happy place. A delectable dessert to round off a fabulous meal. Please do give this establishment a try if you're anywhere close. You'll thank me later.

It’s a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Amazing Tea, food and service. Owner & Staff are extremely knowledgeable and make great recommendations.

Cozy cafe with chic interior and retro music playing in the background will give you nostalgic vibe. Outdoor and indoor both sitting options are available. Entire cafe is aesthetically decorated with plants, frames, vintage showpieces. Food quality is good and staffs are friendly. Definitely recommend this place.

Loved the place and the food. We ordered cold coffee and two chicken dishes. Located near to patuli. The environment is also very good for hangouts with families or friends. My daughter enjoyed a lot.

Hidden Europe in the streets of Patuli…. Cosy and welcoming ambiance with Jazz music will give you a very chilled vibe. Friendly staff and wide variety of food and beverages will definitely make you want to visit this place again and again…. had a wonderful experience and would suggest everyone to try this place out.

The interior is just awesome. You can have some great food and time here. If you are photogenic, you would be getting some beautiful backgrounds. Also, there's no physical menu card, saving the paper. I like their service and taste of the food. Recommended!

I have to say, I enjoyed every single bite of the meal in Cafe By The Lane Patuli. I had a 3 course meal, with a couple of Tea. Considering the quality and Quantity, the price is reasonable. Ideal for those who want a romantic night out. There was also plenty of space for bigger groups.
