Der aaye Durust aaye !! Yes, as we are big foodies we are a buffet hunter and ultimately visited this bucket list place. We were late but went at a right time I would say. Got an option of normal buffet as well as "Fiesta Mexicana Menu". Location - The Pride Plaza, Newtown (Near Axis Mall) Duration of "Mexicana Fiesta" - 1st Nov till 30th Nov 2019. Lunch: 12.30 pm to 3.00pm Dinner: 7.30 pm to 10.45 pm Fiesta Mexicana Buffet Price - ??Option 1 - 1:1 @ 1199 AI ??Option 2 - 1:1 offer @ 1299 AI with Mexican shots It contains both option of 6 veg and 6 non veg items. Tried few items from this menu but the best according to me was Pescado Frito and Camrones ala Plancha. Pescado Frito - It's an Mexican fried fish where the coating was crispy and we'll presented and served with guacamole, sour cream, tomato salsa and pineapple salsa. The taste was really nice. Camrones ala Plancha - Well it's a highly recommended dish. Jumbo whole grilled prawns marinated with lemon, cilantro, olive oil and black pepper. The flavour of the ingredients was well absorbed into the prawns and it was tasty as well. Now coming up to the Normal usual buffet which I was waiting for a long time... Normal Buffet Price - Lunch Buffet - 849/- INR + GST Dinner Buffet - 999/- INR + GST Dum Ka Mahi, Murgir Jhol, Lamb Barbacoa, Veg Tacos, Exotic Veg in Thai Red Curry, Cannelloni, Mexican Kidney bean, Sauteed Beans, Saigon Noodles, Aloor Dum, Panchmishali Sabji, Steam Rice , Mexican Rice, Sorshe Bhindi, Paneer Butter Masala, Gobi Adraki, Domati Palak, Phucka, Raita, Varieties of Salads, Different types of desserts including Mishti Doi, Chocolate Bomb, Patishapta etc. The starters are served on table which includes both veg and non veg option. In main course Murgir Jhol, Lamb Barbacoa, Sorshe Bhindi and Gobi Adraki was really hitting my tastebuds.

Visited this place for Weekend Buffet after seeing a video by a popular Food Blogger on YouTube. Found that after Facebook and Instagram YouTube has also become a large platform for Marketing. Video was very professionally made showing this is one of biggest Indian Buffet serving more than 50 items. But in reality there was hardly half of the items were present in the buffet. Even on Sunday none of the premium dishes were present as shown in the video nor the pricing matched. Ambiance ----------------------- This place looks completely different in pictures and videos, by different I mean Cafe Treat is located in the Lobby area and not as big as it looks like. Well it's a premium hotel so decorations are good but not as good as other competitor hotels. Nothing really impressive about the ambiance. We were there for the food, so let's straight jump into the buffet. In starting there was some soup that I didn't even touched so next. 1 complementary Mocktail was given, that was of no value in terms of taste, quality and the way it was given hence they gave it for free...lol Starters (1/5) ---------------------------- Fish Fry Chilli Paneer Being a premium hotel only 2 starters in buffet was simply not justified. However the quality of the starters were also very disappointing. Fish fry was extremely oily from inside also the quality of fish was suspicious. Paneer felt bit hard and below average in taste. Mains (1/5) ------------------------- The whole mains spread was super disappointing. Look I don't hate veg items in buffet, here 80% items were veg but problem was they weren't actually good. Veg Biryani, Veg Pasta and Veg Spicy Noodles were extremely bad in taste. Number of Veg Curries and Dal was present, sadly nothing was worth keeping on plate. Salad section seemed good but that's not of my type. In Non Veg they only had 3 dishes. Oriental Chilli Fish that tasted good, Chicken Kasha that tasted worst and Mutton Kasha that they didn't kept in buffet rather served it on table in a bowl. Mutton Kasha tasted excellent, gravy was super smooth and delicious but lots of small pieces of bones were also mixed with it that ruined the experience. Dessert (2/5) ---------------------------- In dessert number of Cakes, Misti Doi and Sandesh was present, but here also I put my plate down. Only Malpua and Doodh Puli was new and worth trying in whole dessert counter. Pricing : --------------------- Beware this place is counted as luxury property hence the tax is not standard 5% like every other restaurant. They add freeking 18% GST on bill and that makes the buffet price near to 900-1000 per person. No where close to Rs.600 as shown in those fake YouTube videos. Final Verdict : --------------------------- Never ever plan your day by following some random YouTubers video. Remember one thing they're doing it for some reason and the reason is obviously to take your hard earned money. Trust no one than yourself.

Nice restaurant with lots of sitting arrangements. great buffet spread at affordable pricing. Cost for lunch buffet is Rs.1199 for 2, if you purchase buffet coupon from Nearby. Overall wide varieties of starter, main courses & desserts. Love this place.

Tried buffet menu. No of items is very less compared to other options at this price point. I would choose barbecue or absolutely barbecue over Cafe Retreat anytime.

Camrones Ala Plancha (Grilled Prawns) - This was the best dish from the Mexican food menu. Very properly grilled prawns which tastes amazing. The outer part was crispy whereas the prawns were equally tender from inside. A perfect blend of everything. Tastes well with Saudi Arabian Champagne. This is highly recommended. Price - Rs 600/- INR 2. Chimichanga - This is actually a tortilla wrapped with vegetables and cottage cheese. Tastes pretty well with sour cream, tomato salsa and guacamole. Price - Rs 350/- INR From the Buffet menu : Lunch Buffet - 849/- INR + GST Dinner Buffet - 999/- INR + GST 1. Murgir Jhol - A very common but favourite of many foodies. A perfect chicken preparation it was. Tastes well will steam rice. 2. Lamb Barbacoa - Barbacoa is a preparation of meat that is steam cooked in an underground oven until very tender and succulent. The lambs were properly cooked and were equally tender. The curry was a proper blend of herbs, spices and chillies which tastes delicious. This is highly recommended. 3. Patisapta - A good sweet dish it was. Stuffed with grated coconut and khoya with perfect sweetness. Please do a visit here. You can enjoy the Mexican festival and buffet menu both. Keep Munching ?
