★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First Horrible experience with Canara Bank in 27 years association. This unfortunate experience was at Baner road branch which is next to Hotel Shiv Sagar. To begin with all that the staff was concerned about was whether to order dosa or idli or icecream with utter disregard for waiting customers. Secondly when I enquired where to avail tokens since I wanted to withdraw some cash I got a very disgruntled response from the employee whose designation cannot possibly be guessed. Upon presenting a cheque to be cashed the transaction was cleared untill the female clerk remembered to check my identity document. For the first time an aadhaar card was refused as id proof since my mothers name was not on it....which is ironical coz it was my id proof secondly we have a patriarchal soceity. To add to it the chief branch manager enlightened me that though the bank has a at par operation policy but as per the branch pilicy I cannot withdraw the amount of 20,000 inr from this branch n I will have to go to bibwewadi branch which is contradictory to the banks policy. The branch premise is downright filthy and attitudes of the staff are further disgisting. I believe this branch adopts their own policies and for sure I shall be escalating this matter with the regional / head office.
