The nucleus of the educational citadel B.H.U. is C.H.S. It is the “Tapobhumi” of mother Annie Besent and Mahamana Madan Mohan Malviya ji. This institution has proudly assimilated the history of educational development. Founded on 7th July 1898 as Central Hindu College, the present C.H.S. is situated at Kamachha, spread capaciously and housed in magnificent and glorious buildings.
Overall a very good School with almost every Facilities and offers a very good education. Offers a great facility for sports and fitness too. The first all Asia educational summit was held here in 1916.
Founded by noted freedom-fighter Annie Besant in July 1898, with Dr. Arthur Richardson, a science graduate from England as the principal.,[1] Later Annie Besant dedicated this school to Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya, Administration of this school is now a responsibility of Banaras Hindu University[2] and the Institution went on to become the nucleus of Banaras Hindu University, which was established in 1916.
Central Hindu Boys School's campus spreads over 70 acres and houses the school, hostel, laboratories (physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, computer, psychology and agriculture), gym and library. The school has more than 50 classrooms and houses several halls.
