Hira Singh Wholesale Vegetable Market is the largest market yard in India and second largest in Asia.The market is spread over 76 acres and an average of 200 truckloads of potatoes and onions are brought to the mandi from Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh every day. Market acts as a national distribution centre for fruits like apple, banana, orange and mango and for vegetables like potato, onion, garlic and ginger.
I had an amazing experience and has helped me in my efforts to stem post harvest losses in India.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ All fruits and vegetables are available in very cheap price, this is only place in India where almost all the district from east to west and north to south are supplied there fruits and vegetables here. However Apple is a largest commodity @ 80% of fruits, including killu, shimla and JK Apple, thereafter, Mosambi (sweet lime) and Anar (pomegranate) is are largest commodity which are being sold here (within fruits) on whole sale price. Potato and onion are number one commodity within vegetables sold in sabzi Mandi area, as the market decided in two area namely New Sabzi Mandi (NSM) & New Fruit Mandi (NFM). It is largest fruit and vegetable market within the Asia (in terms of quantity of commodity sold here) as per limca book of world records.
