★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hailing basically from nagpur, and having my taste buds inclined towards spicy food I was almost always disappointed while having chat at various outlets in mumbai.
Pani puri is supposed to be had with boiled aloo smashed with boiled chick peas mixed in it. Add some green spicy chilli chutney to it and your masala is ready to be put in the puri. But majority of the chat places don't use aloo in pani puri they have a substitute to it; the chana dal. I never liked the taste of it. Even the Puris are small in size.
One fine day I came across this outlet at carter's and to my relief I found that they serve pani puri the way it is supposed to be had. The Puris are huge in size, they use smashed aloo with chick peas and extra chutney added for that much needed spice. Their khatta pani is amazing. Leaves a zing on your tongue once you have a puri. Well that's what puchkas are made to do right..? Amazing taste.
We even tried the Kolkata Kachori Ghoogni Chat. And I loved it. The taste was authentic enough to make me order for one more plate.
Then came the Kolkata jhal mudi. Served the way they do at Bada Bazaar, in small packets made of paper, this one is a definite yes on my list to have when I visit again. Spicy, lemony, crispy flavourful combination is simply too hard to resist.
No compromises on the quality and hygiene at this place.
Kulhad Chai was also good. The masala was perfect, asked them to make it a little gingery and they did. Loved the chai as well.
Our overall experience was amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
The only thing that disappointed me was the price. It's exorbitant. And hence the 3.5 rating.
Anywho. Do try out this place. And let everyone know how your experience was.
Adios people. Happy munching. :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Most unhygenic panipuri. Customers eat right on top of the pani puri mix. Saw their food dropping back into the mixture. Disgusting.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just an okay place to have chaat n other street
food. I found it little expensive in terms of taste
and quantity. There was nothing special about
the chaat I had. It was very simple, similar to
what we generally get on street side (which is
way cheaper ). They just gave the name as
calcutta chaat.
