On the way to Puri when Chaitanya Mahaprabhu passed through this place, he picking up some dust from these place and used to eat everyday small part of these dust. After these his disciples and other pilgrim do same thing and creat a small doba which is called Chaitanya Doba.

In this doba, that is, small pond, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu used to bath.
Historical importance of this place is a lot but more maintenance required because the pond is not clean M
The temple was good.

During his journey to Puri, Shri Chaitanya Deb visited this place, took a handful of soil of his Guru's place. It is said that Shri Chaitanya Deb ate the soil everyday. After that it became a ritual among followers and the place turned into a large pit. Water filled in and the place turned into a "Doba" (Puddle). Since then this place is popular as Chaitanya Doba. This place has a historical significance. If you visit this place then also visit the nearby temple.
