★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Chandbali College is situated in the Bhadrak district of Coastal Odisha. When exactly the name of ‘Chandbali’ came in to coinage can not be said exactly. This can only be ascertained that the name came in to existence from the Medieval period. However, considering the archaeological remains in and around the locality/area it can be said that from the Early Medieval period the place was settled and actively engaged in trade and commerce. After the Great Famine of 1866, the Chandbali port (also known as the Ravenshaw port) was established in 1870 by the enterprise of Captain McNeil & the strong determination of T.E Ravenshaw, the then Commissioner of Orissa.
