About Chetana Conscience of Women
Chetana Conscience of Women (CCW) is a “non-for-profit”, “non-governmental” organisation registered under Societies Act 1860 formed in the year 2011. It was founded by Smt. Pragna Parande. Its establishment was inspired by the value of equality for women in social, economic and political spheres. The humble journey of Chetana had its beginnings as a Counselling center catering to a wide plethora of needs of women. Over the years, Chetana’s areas of focus expanded to address welfare needs of all. Chetana envisions to help women and children to become positive change agents in not just their families but also the society at large. Chetana achieves this vision by working on our various projects focused on awareness and advocacy. Our efforts and work are inline with the SDGs defined by the UN for achieving lasting peace and prosperity for the people and the planet. We are committed to leaving no one behind. Chetana is working towards alleviating the marginalized and their inclusion into the mainstream. We also focus on generating and sharing knowledge with diverse stakeholders to influence sustainable impact at scale. Our overall goal is the empowerment of women and girls from poor and marginalized communities, leading to improvement in their lives and livelihoods.
