Serves stale sweets. You buy sweets here with trust being a reputed brand, Purchased malai pedha, it was meant to be distributed when tasted later it was tasting more like a milk powder ball than soft pedha. Big NO for all my future requirements.

More variety of food available since they moved more specious place. Store has good feel about it. The lady who manages the store is very courteous and helpful. But the staff that manages the counter need to be trained to serve the customers with courtesy and smile.

Visited Chitale Bandhu outlet at Salunkhe Vihar, Pune, today 12/02/22 early evening. Bought a Chikoo burfi because of a handwritten board displayed at the entrance. Thought of trying this one a I had never done so before. On finding the tray practically empty with just about half a Kg remaining I didn't want to take the risk & requested for 150Gms on a trial basis. The young lady & gentleman who served me were amused at the qty I was buying & smiled amongst themselves. Thats definitely not a point to hold against them as I didn't mind. Coming to the chikoo burfi, it was an absolute sorry experience. The colour was unappetizing, followed by the texture, tasted the way it looked dense & doughy. Not that dough may be present but its a comparison. It was hard to swallow, lacked chikoo flavour & not really worth a try unless they improve on the taste. Chitale has been iconic & is today in this segment for decades, even though they now sell a lot of scacky stuff from several small outsourced vendors. Sometimes its not possible for them to retain the same high standards as their own ancestors. Even their founding products namely Bhakarwadi & Basundi are now commercialized. Either we get old or times change. End of the day I'm happy I didn't buy a larger qty of the Chikoo burfi.
