Nice place to visit. Though there is no guided tour or any such information regarding its history. Search online instead. Perfect day trip from Varanasi, could be your first stop if going onwards to Vindhyachal.

No maintenance at all, if you are traveling a long distance just to see this fort alone then it is not worth it. Don't waste your time. But in case you visit there anyways, take tour guide who is usually a college student, but he explains everything nicely.

A very old and historical monument located at the banks of Ganges river. You can reach the top of the fort by two/four wheeler. Local guides are available who narrate the age-old history of the fort. Only part of the fort area is well maintained and is accessible to public. The main tomb looks gigantic and it's architecture is very beautiful. If you like photography, you can try many creative compositions in and around this main building. Besides this, the views of Ganges on West and north side are worth capturing.

These British graves are hidden with the love and respect they deserve. I realize that I often keep thinking whether the family members of those Britons who are on Indian soil, shrouded in time, have been able to navigate their way through the maze of accesses, clearances and permits to join their ancestors.

It is aptly said that a walk through Chunar fort is a walk through Indian history. Built by the legendary emperor Vikramaditya, the fort has been used by different dynasties of rulers from the Mughals, Sher Shah Suri to Governor-General Warren Hastings over the centuries. Located in the Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh near Varanasi, the fort stands on a rock overlooking the Ganges. A must visit for everyone.

Peaceful as always! This place hits differently. The evenings here is what a person needs. On the bank of Ganges, you can't ask for more.

No ticket needed for entry. Most of the part of fort was closed. Only a small portion is open . Come only on cloudy day or somewhat cooler day. You can enjoy ganga view from top.
