Hindu Temple adjacent to the Kancharapara Railway station is one of the most oldest and most famous Temple in Kanchrapara. It is situated beside the road connecting Kampa More opposite to Kanchrapara Harnett School. Puja to the deity could be offered any time of the day. A overwhelming place and a visit here is totally worth it.

This south facing temple of Goddess Kali on raised plinth is at Kanchrapara at the side of Kanchrapara - Haringhata road. Perhaps it is the oldest temple in Kanchrapara. In past vast sarrounded area was dense forest and known as Bijpur. At that time Goddess Kali was worshipped here by notorious dakats . Perhaps one associate of Raghu dakat was the founder of Maa Kalir than here. As per 24 parganas old District Gazettear even the human sacrifice was the part of worship. Afterward in 1860 AD the entire area was occupied and developed for Railway Workshop. At that time one Brahmin Pandit ( highly educated in Sanskrit literature and Hindu scripture ) came here from Gorakhpur and built a south facing temple of Goddess Kali . At present it is a dalan temple with pancha ratna style shikharas. In this shrine in addition to Goddess Kali , Ramji with Sita, Lord Krishna with Radhika, Balgopal, Hunumanji are also worshipped daily. Here annual religious festival of Goddess Kali is Bangla Kartic amabasya tithi.
