It is the only one Registered Central Fishermen's Co-operative Society of this Dakshin Dinajpur District. It is registered under the West Bengal Co-operative Societies Act & Rules. This Central Co-operative Society receives the Government Water Bodies, from the State Government, on lease basis, at reasonable prices, for Fish Culture and Fish Catch by the Member Primary Fishermen's Co-operative Societies, which are situated at Block Levels in this Dakshin Dinajpur District. This Central Fishermen's Co-operative Society mainly works, for the development of the Socio-Economic conditions of its member Primary Co-op. Societies. The activities of this Central Co-operative Society is Monitored and Supervised by the Assistant Director of Fisheries, Dakshin Dinajpur, Government of West Bengal, through his District Level Fishery Officer.
