★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dasghara, located 12km north of the temple town of Tarakeswar, dates back to the early 18th century, when the Gopinath temple, the oldest structure standing in these parts, came up.
Dasghara also treasures a clock tower and an arched gateway. These two masterpieces were built by Bipin Krishna Roy, aka Beepin Kristo Roy (1851-1919), the mainstay of the Roy family, a notable businessperson of the area. However, the hands of the clock tower have become static. There is also the mansion of Bipin Krishna, where Durga Puja held every year.
